First the customer was all convinced to use JULinux on their computer all by itself. That installed, had all the drivers installed, and all worked by itself and I place the customer’s stuff back on it in under a couple hours. Then one of their relatives told them they should dual boot XP. Two hours turned into two weeks. —– This is one of my computer headaches caused by someone recommending Windows XP to my customer instead of just using Linux. This laptop says that it’s a HP Pavilion Entertainment PC DV6700 on the mark. It’s not. The customer told me it’s a DV6810US and the drivers for that work just not for XP. HP never place the XP drivers on their support page even though they are on HP’s FTP server! I couldn’t figure out what hardware was inside this laptop to get drivers for and the toughest was the sound card. Why? Well because you can’t install the sound card driver until you install some module’s driver first. Don’t know why just know it’s messing with my head.
